Closed - Call for panels / speakers > JCEA 2022 - Call for papers - Closed

On the 27th and the 30th of June 2022, the 6th Meeting of Young Researchers in African Studies (JCEA) will be held, on the theme of "Les Afriques facing the crises ? Ruptures and continuities". The event will take place on campus  at the University Toulouse Jean-Jaurès, alongside with the 7th African Studies Meeting in France « Rencontres des Études Africaines en France (REAF) ». All the details of the event can be found at this address: https://jcea2022.sciencesconf.org/

After a first call for proposals for thematic workshops (or panels), our scientific committee has selected 13 workshops, each on the theme of "Africa facing crises? Ruptures and continuities". From archaeology to history, from anthropology to political science, from economics to sociology, from geography to environmental sciences, from literature to philosophy and the arts, the dynamics of "crises" will thus be addressed in all their polysemy and polyphony. The JCEA Meetings wish to call upon the most recent research in progress on these issues.

From February 09 to March 18, 2022, we invite young researchers (doctoral students and young doctoral students who are not yet in a permanent position) to propose a paper in one of these panels (see the tab "List of panels"). A person can be first author of only one paper. Proposals for papers should be sent by e-mail to the workshop leaders before 18 March 2022 with a copy to the JCEA, at the following address : cojcea2022@gmail.com. You should provide them with your discipline, your institutional affiliation and a title and a maximum 400-word abstract of your paper. It is not necessary to include the list of bibliographic references quoted in your text. Papers in English are accepted (however, presentations in English must be accompanied by French translated slides).

In addition, the JCEA proposes a non-thematic entry in order to offer the opportunity to all young researchers on Africa to present the results of their research. Thus, all proposals dealing with Africa and its diasporas, relating to ongoing research, are welcome and should be sent to cojcea2022@gmail.com, following the guidelines explained above.
